The demand for green homes is soaring in America. The World Green Building Council cited a survey conducted by Dodge Data & Analytics. It showed home building professionals now expect that more than 60% of their projects will be at least partially of fully green homes. That’s up 27% in 2018 alone.

Other surveys support this data. For example, the RIS Media asked real estate agents about what home buyers are asking about in terms of buying new homes. More than 60% of real estate sellers said buyers inquire about green homes. Furthermore, 70% said they now routinely use green home construction as a primary selling point.

It’s an amazing and positive trend. However, it has also created a significant challenge for home construction companies. That’s because building a green home from scratch is time consuming and still far more expensive than building a conventional home. (The exception to this rule is a “tiny home” of 600 square feet or less).

Fortunately, there is a solution to speed up a green home project. It’s opting for a prehab green home. Prefab green homes are completely blueprinted and ready to go. They can be constructed up to 50% faster than a non-prefab home. That’s doesn’t mean they’re “cookie cutter” models that all look the same. Numerous home models are available. These individual models also allow for customization.

But there is even another way to speed up access. It’s builders that offer green home construction using a franchise model. An example is GH Builders. This firm has developed an extensive franchise network across the United States.

Home builders can tap into a GH Builder franchise opportunity and hit the ground running fast with a green home project. It’s a prime example of how the construction industry has responded to meeting what is truly a historic green home project level of demand.
