Solid Wood Flooring

The most affordable type of solid wood flooring used in homes is the unfinished hardwood-strip flooring. Typically, unfinished flooring is installed in maple or red oak. In order to achieve the desired color, the planks require sanding. Once this is done, a topcoat is then applied. Prefinished wood flooring may cost more than unfinished wood flooring but for good reason, no sanding is required. Once you have installed the last plank, you are done, unless you have trim to nail.
