In the world of locks and security there exists a product called plastic truck seals. The interesting thing about these seals is that they go by several names all of which fall beneath the blanket of HSS – or high security seals. If you are new to this world of seals and locks, then the notion of high security seals may somehow seem familiar. If you are a truck driver or work for a trucking company, then plastic truck seals are normal tools of the trade.  Here are a few things to help you better understand plastic seals for trucks and their uses.

At a Glance
When first looking at the plastic seals, and to the untrained eye, they may appear to be nothing more than multi-colored, plastic straps. However, these “plastic straps” have passed a myriad of certifications through the customs agencies of both the United States and the United Kingdom. As a result of the stringent certifications in which they must pass, the plastic seals can only be broken with a 30lb. or 55lb. strength of force. Sure, they look flexible and indeed they are –flexible, that is – but these seals are quite tough and due to their plastic consistency, the seals will easily tell the tales of tampering should an unauthorized individual try to remove them.

Price
Quite affordable, depending on where you purchase the seals from, they can range from $9.00 to $18.00 per hundred seals. It is, however, best to do a bit of comparative shopping in order to find the manufacturer who can better accommodate your allotted budget. Rarely are these seals sold separately. If you require a parcel of less than 100 pieces, it might be a good idea to contact the manufacturer directly.

Depending on your particular preference, the seals come in several colors.  The standard blue, red, green and yellow are available. Additional colors may include orange, black and white. Keep in mind that they are fully customizable and usually can hold up to 1000 characters. This is important to keep in mind should you want to add a barcode or custom code near your logo.

Ordering plastic seals for trucks can be a tedious task. Consider making a checklist of the colors that you need and the price range you are willing to stay within. Do a bit of comparative shopping online.
